There are so many fun opportunities and ways to get involved within the creative department, but more specifically, the photo section. Aside from actually being a photographer on the shoot, we encourage members to shadow and assist on shoots to get familiar with how shoots go as well as to gain experience working for a published magazine. We also are planning on adding editing sessions for our next issue, to allow others to help edit the shoots for the magazines. Learning about the photo equipment in the studios, as well as learning about the softwares we use on shoots and for editing is also a great plus to our photo department. It's really cool to get to work with the everyone else on the creative team as well: the makeup, hair, and styling team, multimedia, and the designers. You truly get to see the insides of how content is curated for a magazine. Getting involved is super easy, everyone is always welcome and encouraged to come to our Tuesday night meetings and any shoots that serve as interest to you!

PHOTO EDITING

The Photo Editing Department at Thread is a newly established section as of Fall 2023 dedicated to enhancing the visual quality of our content. Our section handles tasks such as image selection, toning, and retouching, polishing the photography team's work so it's ready for print. We are eager to have more creatives join us! We primarily utilize Adobe Photoshop for our editing tasks, so proficiency in this software is a plus. However, we hope to host workshops and editing team collaborations to help you develop your skills and build a portfolio.
